Newark was given $2.19 million dollars from the federal that will allow the state’s largest cities to hire police officers and social services to city residents who are a high risk to commit violent crimes.
Booker said “The way to solve crime problems is to empower people to make sure crime does not happen in the first place, The plan is to head off crime by offering jobs and other forms of assistance to residents who face a high risk of falling into the criminal lifestyle,” Booker said.
